Our allotment

Since november 2010 we have our own allotment and i thought it would be nice to keep an update of how things progress at the place for future reference. The first thing we did was cut down most of the present growth. The reason we did this was because a) the allotment hadn't been worked in for at least two and a half years and b) a woodchipper would be at the site a week later.

So we cleared most of the garden, leaving litle more than a lonely pear tree some buddleias, a small willow, a couple of ornamental bushes which I haven't identified yet and some berries.
There were more than a hundred tiles incorporated in the garden. We wanted to make use of these so we build a bed with them.

The only plants we have planted so far are rhubarb and chives. The broad beans are almost ready to be put in the garden and yesterday we received jerusalem artichokes which we'll put in next week as well.
